| 3/4 | cup | packed brown sugar | |

| 1 | teaspoon | vanilla | |
|

| 3 | cups | flour | |
|
|
|||
| 1 | tablespoon | baking powder | |
|

| 1 | teaspoon | salt | |
|
|
|||
| 1 | teaspoon | ground allspice | |
|

|||
| 1 | teaspoon | ground cloves | |
|
|
|||
| 1 | cup | milk | |
|
|
|||
| 3 | cups | peeled apple slices | |
|

|||
| 1 | teaspoon | cinnamon | |
|
|
|||
Cream margarine, 3/4 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, allspice and cloves. Alternately mix flour mixture and milk with sugar mixture; mix well after each addition. Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Arrange apples on batter, sprinkle with combined 1/4 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 375 F. for 40-45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
