Indian Masala Tea
Yield: 1 quart
| 2 | cups | water | |

| 3-4 | whole cloves | ||

| 1 | cinnamon stick | ||

| 3-4 | cardamom pods (cracked open) | ||

|||
| 1/4 | cup | loose black tea (or 4 tea bags) | |

| 2 | cups | milk | |
|

| 3-4 | tablespoons | sugar | |
|
|
|||
Combine water, cloves, cinnamon stick and cardamom and bring to a boil; simmer 5 minutes. Add black tea and steep for 5 minutes. Add milk and heat, but do not boil. When hot, strain and add sugar. Stir and serve immediately.
